Dhangadhi: Aryan Bishwakarma, a young innovator from Kailali, has successfully developed a medical drone capable of transporting essential medical supplies.

Aryan, who gained recognition last year for building and flying a remote-controlled model plane, has now advanced his skills by creating a drone designed to carry up to two kilograms of medical supplies for emergency healthcare delivery.

A resident of Pratappur Bhurraghat, Lamkichuha Municipality-9, Aryan, 15, is currently studying on a scholarship at Chaitanya Pathshala in Dhangadhi. His extraordinary talent came into the spotlight after he independently researched airplanes on the internet and successfully built a model aircraft.

“The drone I made will help deliver medicine or injections to patients in need. It can be used in emergency medical services,” Aryan explained. Additionally, the drone can be used to hoist flags and scatter flowers during formal events. Recently, his creation was showcased at a religious program in Dhangadhi, where it was used to shower flowers.

Aryan’s journey has been one of resilience and perseverance. His father, Bharat Bishwakarma, passed away due to electrocution in India when Aryan was just four years old. Since then, his mother, Rajeshwori Bishwakarma, has shouldered the responsibility of raising Aryan and his two sisters despite financial hardships.

Recognizing his potential, Chaitanya Pathshala took him under its wing last year, offering him free education and accommodation. Ganesh Prasad Joshi, the school’s owner, stated that they are covering Rs. 500,000 annually for his studies and living expenses. “Aryan is disciplined and hardworking. He has built a drone using AI, and we are providing everything he needs to further his learning,” Joshi added.

Aryan, inspired by Mahabir Pun, dreams of becoming a scientist. "One day, I want to build an airplane and take my mother, uncles, and sisters on a flight," he shared.

Although Aryan's drone is currently remote-controlled, further research and modifications are needed to make it more practical for broader use. Since joining Chaitanya Pathshala, Aryan has also worked on RC planes and sensor-powered devices, with the support of the school's STEAM department, which encourages students in scientific research and innovation.
