Second installment released for earthquake victims' housing reconstruction

Bajura: The District Disaster Management Committee has decided to hand over the second installment of funds for the reconstruction of houses for earthquake victims to the respective municipalities.
According to Chief District Officer Meghnath Padhya, who also serves as the Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee, the amount received from the Ministry of Home Affairs will be distributed to the municipalities to facilitate the construction process.
A total of 1,473 earthquake victims will receive financial assistance. However, the Himali and Jagannath Rural Municipalities have not yet updated their records of affected individuals, resulting in delays in fund allocation for victims in those areas.


The fund distribution is as follows:
Triveni Municipality – NPR 28.25 lakh
Budhiganga Rural Municipality – NPR 86 lakh
Budhi Nanda Municipality – NPR 13.5 lakh
Gaumul Rural Municipality – NPR 13.75 lakh
Khaptad Chhede Daha Rural Municipality – NPR 22.475 lakh
Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality – NPR 22.5 lakh
Bringing the total disbursed amount to NPR 368.25 lakh.

Additionally, funds have also been allocated for individuals affected by monsoon-related disasters. The District Administration Office, Bajura, is preparing to transfer these funds to Budhiganga Rural Municipality, Triveni Municipality, Gaumul Rural Municipality, and other affected local bodies.
