Dhangadhi: Rumors have been circulating about the closure of the Saturday Women's Enterprise Fair in Dhangadhi.

However, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has clarified that the fair has not been shut down. Addressing the concerns through a video message, Mayor Gopal Hamal and Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana reassured the public that the fair is still operational, with preparations completed for Saturday, Chaitra 2 (today).

Mayor Hamal dismissed the closure rumors, stating, "There have been speculations that the Saturday Women's Enterprise Market has been shut down. Please do not believe these false claims. Any official closure will be announced by us. Our goal is to strengthen the fair and empower women."

While the fair, held in Park Mode, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-1, may see changes in its schedule, Mayor Hamal has urged discussions on possible improvements with Deputy Mayor Rana. Rana affirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed, saying, "Women have prepared snacks and handicrafts, the children’s stage is set, and the cultural stage is ready." She also acknowledged the spread of false rumors regarding the fair’s closure.

The Saturday Women's Enterprise Fair has been running since Mangsir 1, 2081, beginning with 60 stalls on its first day. Operating from 1 PM to 6 PM, the fair provides essential facilities, including free drinking water, electricity, toilets, stalls, tents, tables, chairs, toys, and on-site health workers.
