Dhangadhi: The annual Ganga Dussehra puja and religious fair will be held at Behada Baba Temple in Rampur, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-16, Kailali, from Jestha 21 to 25.

Celebrated each year on the Dashami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Jestha, the fair attracts a large number of devotees, including many from neighboring India. To ensure the successful organization of the Ganga Dussehra Fair, the Behada Baba Temple Management Service Committee has formed several sub-committees.

A drinking water and electricity management committee is operating under the coordination of Service Committee Secretary Birendra Chand. A mess management committee has been formed under the coordination of Temple Management Committee member Krishna Chand Rana. Temple puja and line management will be overseen by Vice-Chairman Narendra Shah.

Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-16 Chairman Ramlal Chaudhary will coordinate the monitoring and security management committee, while a volunteer mobilization committee has been assigned to Ramesh Prasad Bhatta. Publicity efforts will be led by Tilak Bahadur Bohara.

To ensure a civilized environment at the fair, four perimeter points have been designated: Imli Chowk (Rampur) in the north, Byusaha Chowk and Urma Jungle in the south, Kundi Tole (Ghurha River) in the east, and the Shivaganga River in the west. Within these bounds, the sale and distribution of fish, meat, and alcoholic beverages in temporary tents will be strictly prohibited. Violators will face confiscation of goods and a fine of Rs 10,000 for disruptive behavior involving alcohol or drugs.

Temple Management Service Committee Chairman Khem Bahadur Chand has called for public cooperation to ensure the fair’s success.
