Elderly man living on streets rescued in Doti
Doti: A 65-year-old man, Chandra Aujee, who had been living on the streets for an extended period, has been rescued and provided with shelter. Aujee, originally from Mangalsen Kalagaon, Achham, was placed in a shelter home in Kailali on Tuesday through the efforts of the Doti District Administration and Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality.
The mayor of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality, Baji Singh Khadka, coordinated the rescue operation and personally transported Aujee to the shelter in a municipal vehicle. "Many individuals are still enduring hardships on the streets. It is our primary responsibility to safeguard and care for them," Mayor Khadka said. He emphasized the municipality's ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable groups, including the disabled, orphaned, and homeless, and called for collective support for such humanitarian initiatives.
Chief District Officer Mohanraj Joshi highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to assist those separated from their families and compelled to live on the streets due to various circumstances. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to supporting and rehabilitating such individuals in the future.
