Minivan accident in Darchula leaves five injured
Darchula: A minivan accident occurred in Darchula on Saturday, near the Nakatad (Padal) check post in Shailyashikhar Municipality-9.
Police Inspector and Information Officer Kantiraj Joshi from the District Police Office Darchula reported that the minivan, Ba 5 B 5265, driven by 44-year-old Ram Bahadur Mahara of Bhimdatta Municipality-12, Kanchanpur, was traveling from Khanalga in Darchula towards Mahendranagar when it crashed due to brake failure. Among the 17 passengers on board, five sustained injuries.
The injured include 14-year-old Jasmina Dhami of Shailyashikhar-6 Panebaj, 80-year-old Bishnudatta Joshi of Ward No.-7 Deothali, 10-year-old Himansu Joshi, 40-year-old Basanti Bista of Bedkot Municipality-7 in Kanchanpur, and the co-driver, 22-year-old Rohit Swar of Bardagoria, Kailali. The remaining passengers were unharmed. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Malikarjun Hospital in Gokuleshwar.
