Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak visits Sudurpaschim for the first time
Dhangadhi, Sudurpaschim: Ramesh Lekhak, newly appointed as Home Minister and leader of the Nepali Congress, has arrived in Sudurpaschim for his first visit to the region since taking office.
His three-day itinerary includes meetings with Nepali Congress workers, inspections of flood-affected areas, and various inaugurations. Upon arrival in Dhangadhi, Kailali, on Tuesday, Home Minister Ramesh attended a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union at the airport, where he addressed current political and security issues.
His visit has been accompanied by a substantial security presence from the Nepal Police. The minister’s schedule includes visits to the Congress party offices in Punarwas Municipality, Kanchanpur, as well as meetings in Belauri and Beldandi.
In Mahendranagar, he will instruct Kanchanpur district office heads and engage with the district security committee. On Wednesday, Ramesh will inaugurate the Federal Police Office in Mahendranagar, followed by interactions with Congress workers at the Nepali Congress office in Kanchanpur. He is also set to open the Dodhara-Chandni area police office and review flood impacts in Dodhara-Chandni Municipality and Bhimdatta Municipality.
The final day of the visit will involve a press conference in Mahendranagar, meetings with Congress workers at Jhalari in Shuklaphanta, and further administrative engagements in Dhangadhi, including the inauguration of a police station and a petrol pump. The minister is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Thursday evening.
