Sudurpaschim Festival Set to Enchant Dhangadhi Starting Tomorrow
Dhangadhi: The Kailali Industry and Commerce Association announced the successful completion of all preparations for the highly anticipated Sudurpaschim Mahotsav. In a press conference held on Friday, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry disclosed that the 17th edition of the Sudurpaschim Festival, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is ready to captivate attendees.
Commencing from December 8th and continuing until December 18th, the Sudurpaschim Mahotsav is expected to draw significant participation. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 noon on Friday at Pashupati Toll, Ward No. 1 of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City.
With an estimated investment of 3 crores and an anticipated turnover of 10 crores, this year's festival promises a vibrant and engaging experience. Organized by the Kailali Industry and Commerce Association, the event is projected to attract around 650,000 attendees.
A notable addition to this year's festival is the creation of a dedicated Tharu village featuring a museum aimed at preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Chaudhary and Rana communities. Festival-goers can explore an array of food stalls offering dishes from the Far West region.
To manage the influx of visitors, an entry fee of 50 rupees for students and 100 rupees for the general public has been implemented for this edition of the Sudurpaschim Festival.
Leading up to the grand opening, a Prabhatferi program is scheduled to kick off from Shaheed Gate at 8 am on Friday, adding an auspicious start to the festivities. As the event unfolds, it is poised to showcase the diverse cultural tapestry and economic potential of the Sudurpaschim region.
