Far Western province to convene budget session on Jestha 11 amid prolonged stalemate

Dhangadhi: The budget session of the Far Western Provincial Assembly, which had been stalled for an extended period due to opposition obstruction, is set to resume.
The Council of Ministers of the Far Western Province, in a meeting held on Thursday, decided to recommend to Province Chief Nazir Mian to convene the budget session on Jestha 11 at 11 a.m.

As per legal provisions, the Province Chief convenes the Provincial Assembly session based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers. The assembly had been inactive following continuous obstruction by the main opposition party, the CPN-Maoist Center, which raised concerns over controversial appointments, alleged financial irregularities, and rising administrative expenses.

Due to the persistent protests, Province Chief Mian, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, had ended the previous session on Chaitra 10. With the announcement of the new session date, hopes are high for the resumption of legislative activities in the Far Western Province.
