Ward chairman Shahi establishes animal shelter by reducing wedding expenses

Dhangadhi: An animal shelter has been established in Dhangadhi, Kailali, to rescue and care for stray dogs.
Gajendra Shahi, Ward Chairman of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-5, initiated the shelter project using funds saved by minimizing his wedding expenses.

Chairman Shahi stated that the shelter was created to provide food, treatment, and a safe haven for stray dogs. “My wedding program has just been completed,” he said. “The animal shelter has been established to rescue stray dogs by cutting wedding expenses. Dogs are also connected to us in religious terms and are honest animals. Along with shelter, stray dogs are also provided with treatment here.”

In addition to dogs, the shelter also includes an ashram for birds.
