This annual event takes place at the Udayadeva temple, situated in Patan municipality-5 of the district, commencing on Mahaashtami night and culminating on Mahanavami afternoon.

Chaman Kumar Bhandari, Vice President of the Siddhanath Udayadev Religious Development Committee, disclosed that as part of this age-old tradition, 42 Buffaloes and 15 goats were offered as sacrifices within the temple premises. The ritualistic animal sacrifices were performed on the day the Jatra commenced, which was on Maha Ashtami.

The temple holds a rich tradition of sacrificing goats and sheep on Mahanavami. It is customary for devotees to gather at the temple on Mahashtami and conduct the rituals of sacrifice on Mahanavami. A special Jatra is organized during both Mahashtami and Mahanavami, marking these days with unique significance. Additionally, during Mahanavami, alongside the Ranga sacrifice, there is also an exciting Deuda game that engages the devotees. On Maha Ashtami night and Mahanavami day, participants and visitors delight in playing the traditional Deuda Khel.
