Darchula: An unfortunate incident has unfolded as a father and his son were carried away by the force of the Mahakali river, which forms the border between Nepal and India.

Santosh Chand, aged 39, and his 5-year-old son, residents of Jhulaghat, India, a settlement adjoining the Nepal-India border, have been reported missing subsequent to being engulfed by the Mahakali's current. The identity of the young child has not been disclosed. The incident occurred as both the father and son were enjoying a swim with an inflatable tube along the banks of the Mahakali river, drifting towards the Indian side. The distressing occurrence transpired during the afternoon hours of Friday.
