Dhangadhi: An uproar has broken out after gallons of diesel was found in a tanker sent as petrol in Kailali.

Diesel has been found in a tanker sent as petrol by Nepal Oil Corporation Far-West Regional Office Dhangadhi. Diesel was found in a petrol tanker sent from Oil Nigam Dhangadhi to Mitra Traders in Pahalmanpur on Thursday. Ajay Bam, the owner of Mitra Traders, said that when measuring the amount of petrol in the tanker sent to the petrol pump in Pahalmanpur, the quantity was found to be low and when the petrol was taken out from the chamber in a bucket and tested, it was found to be adulterated.

After it was found that petrol was mixed with diesel in the tanker No. 5 B 773 sent by the Nepal Oil Corporation Far West Regional Office Dhangadhi on Thursday, the area police office Sukhad took the tanker under control. Birendra Bishwakarma, Chief of the Area Police Office, Sukhad, said that the tanker has been taken into custody.

He said that when he opened the pipe of one chamber of the tanker and filled the petrol bucket, it was found that 30/35 liters of diesel was adulterated. However, they said that the tanker carrying diesel may have petrol. Deputy Inspector of Police Bishwakarma said that it will be known only after testing whether the petrol of the entire tanker is adulterated. It is said that the team of Oil Corporation Dhangadhi will also arrive to test the quality today.
