Indian Ambassador calls on Minister Shahi
Kathmandu: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, has paid courtesy call on Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi.
During the meeting held at the Ministry in Singha Durbar today, Minister Shahi expected support of neighbouring country, India, to lessen risk of losses caused by climate change in Nepal in recent period.
Similarly, he shared that support of India to lessen environmental impacts at Dodhara Chadani area, for the construction of a school building in Mugu and for tourism promotion of Rara area and development of Mugu Dolphu Chhayanath religious site has been expected, according to the Ministry.
Stating that a verbal understanding was already reached between the two countries on the issue of establishing a security post at Dodhara Chadani, Ambassador Srivastava shared that environmental study for the same was underway.
He recalled that different programmes including construction of physical infrastructures, training on capacity building are being conducted with the Indian support, expressing the view that such programmes would be continued in coming.
