Rising Drug Cases in Kailali: 117 Pending Cases Await Disposal

Dhangadhi: The District Court Kailali has reported a surge in drug-related offenses, with a total of 423 cases being registered. According to official statistics, the court has successfully disposed of 306 cases, leaving 117 cases pending for resolution.
Among the cases, a significant portion, totaling 356, pertains to heroin-related offenses. Out of these, 246 cases have been resolved, while 110 cases are currently awaiting disposal. Additionally, the court has processed 48 cases related to ganja and hashish, successfully resolving 41 of them. Seven cases related to marijuana remain to be resolved. Furthermore, 19 additional cases were registered, but all have been dismissed.
The escalating prevalence of drug use, distribution, and trafficking has contributed to the mounting number of cases in the Kailali district. As the illicit drug trade continues to expand, the incidence of such cases shows no sign of abating.
