Godavari Municipality Commences Services from Newly Constructed Building
Dhangadhi: Godavari Municipality in Kailali district has initiated its service operations from a new building, marking a significant milestone for the local administration.
The services have commenced at the newly constructed facility situated in Ward 2 of the municipality. Mr. Shivraj Bhat, the Municipal Administrative Officer, informed that most of the branch's assets have been successfully relocated to the new building, enabling the municipality to begin providing services from this upgraded establishment. However, Mr. Bhat mentioned some initial challenges related to power lines, which are currently being addressed through ongoing repair work.
In preparation for the shift, the municipality had conducted a ceremonial puja on July 13th, setting the goal to commence operations from the new building within July. The construction of the building, costing NPR 10,55,56,815, was undertaken under the supervision of the Regional Urban Development Project Implementation Unit, Dhangadhi, with funding support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The building's construction was carried out through a contracted arrangement. Although the construction work has been completed, the handover process from the regional urban development project implementation unit to the municipality is still pending.
Before this development, the municipality operated from a rented building, as it did not possess its own dedicated facility to offer services to the public.
