Death of a prisoner at Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: A tragic incident occurred in Dhangadhi, Kailali, where a 28-year-old prisoner, identified as Saroj Bista from Dogdakedar Rural Municipality-5, Baitadi, passed away on Monday morning while undergoing treatment.

Mr. Bista had been serving his sentence at Kailali District Jail and unfortunately succumbed to his illness during treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital. Kailali Jail chief, Padmaraj Timilsena, revealed that Mr. Bista had been suffering from tuberculosis, and due to complications arising from the condition, he was admitted to Seti Provincial Hospital four days prior for medical care.

Given the severity of his condition, Mr. Bista had been under intensive care and had been placed on a ventilator. The unfortunate incident occurred while he was undergoing treatment for his ailment. He had been incarcerated in Kailali prison since Chaitra 12th, 2075 BS, following his involvement in a theft case.

The loss of a life is always a somber event, and this incident has left authorities and the community in grief. Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his demise have not been disclosed at this time.
