According to the 2068 BS census, approximately 91 percent of households were cooking meals using wood fires. The 2068 BS census reported that 4.0 percent of families in the Far West relied on gas for cooking, whereas the 2078 BS census indicates a significant rise to 25.8 percent. However, the adoption of bio gas usage remains relatively stagnant, with only 3.4 percent of households in the province utilizing this alternative cooking fuel.

Electricity usage for cooking purposes in the Far West stands at a mere 1.03 percent of households. Although there has been a slight increase since the 2068 BS census, the growth in electricity consumption for cooking has been minimal.
