Election Targeted Monitoring in Bajura by State Command Post

Bajura: Sudurpaschim Province Command Post has conducted election-targeted monitoring in Bajura. Aiming at the representative and provincial assembly elections to be held on November 20 (Mangshir 4), the command post led by provincial chief secretary Narayan Prasad Duwadi Sharma has monitored the peace and security of Bajura.

In the local elections, elections were held for the second time in Budhiganga of the district. Bajura is a highly sensitive district. The security chief monitored the peaceful conduct of the election in the district. Vijay Thapa, Superintendent of Sudurpaschim Pritna Headquarters, Mohan Acharya, Deputy Inspector General of State Police Office, and Vishwa Kumar Bhattarai, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police, also participated in the team.

The army has said that it has reached Bajura to get information about the situation of polling stations. An inspection was also conducted in the security uniform of the Nepali Army at Budhiganga municipality of Bajura. Gulmapati Senani Diwakar Khadka of Nepali Army Sri Durgabhanjan Gulma said that the election was conducted in a free, fair, fearless and peaceful environment.

During the inspection, Chief District Officer Prakash Chandra Adhikari, Nepal Army Security Uniform Commander, Senani Prem Bahadur Khatri, informed about current events and troop deployment. For the security of the election from Durgabhanjan Gulm, various security related activities have been conducted in different places of the district for the past one month.

The geographical situation of the district, the existing political and security situation were discussed and carefully analyzed. Soldier Diwakar Khadka said that special instructions have been given to the entire district security committee and deployed forces by the chief secretary and president.

One hundred and twelve polling stations have been set up in 70 polling stations in Bajura, where one member for the House of Representatives and two members for the Provincial Assembly will be elected. In Bajura, there are 40,537 women, 42,151 men and 82,890 voters.

43 polling stations of the district are in the list of highly sensitive. According to the information given by Assistant Chief District Officer Lokendra Bista, 43 of the total 70 polling stations in the district are considered highly sensitive polling stations. Bista said that there are 23 sensitive polling stations.

According to him, only four out of 70 polling stations are normal. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Bista, around 2,000 security personnel including Nepal Police, Madi Police, Armed Police and Nepali Army will be deployed for the election.
