48 thousand animals of Darchula were vaccinated
Darchula: 48,000 animals have been vaccinated in Darchula during one year. Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center Darchula has vaccinated 48,000 animals during one year to prevent Paramyxovirus (Ranikhet disease) and foot to mouth (Khoret) infection in animals.
Ram Bahadur Khadka, head of the office of Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center, Darchula, said that various types of vaccinations were administered to animals and birds by going to the settlements of 2 municipalities and 7 rural municipalities in the district.
At the local level, foot to mouth (Khoret disease) has been given as PPR (Pestis des Petitis ruminants) in goats and Paramyxovirus (Ranikhet disease) in chickens. Farmers believe that a complete vaccination program will reduce disease transmission in livestock.
