Five hundred industries in the name of women in Baitadi

Baitadi: Lately there has been an increase in registration of industries in the name of women in Baitadi. As the revenue is less, the process of registering industries in the name of women is increasing.

In just two years, five hundred and eight industries have been registered here in the name of women. According to Laxman Saund, Information Officer of the Household and Small Industries Office, out of 754 industries registered in the financial year 2078/79 BS, 271 industries were registered in the name of women.

Similarly, in 2077/78 BS, 594 small industries were registered, 237 industries were registered in the name of women. If the industry is registered in the name of women, there will be a 50 percent tax discount, various banks and financial institutions give concessional loans, so the process of registering industries in the name of women is increasing now.

Lakshmi Bhatta of Dogdakedar rural municipality-3 said that apart from the tax exemption, she registered the industry in her name to show that women are also capable of running the industry. So far, 3,590 industries have been registered in Baitadi.
