Demonstration in Darchula against MCC approval

Darchula: Protests have erupted in Darchula after the US aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) was approved by the parliament. Demonstrations started in different parts of the district on Monday.

Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN (Maoist) affiliated youth organization has been protesting in Darchula and Baitadi bordering Shailyashikhar Municipality-9 and Gokuleshwor Bazaar demanding repeal of MCC agreement.

During the demonstration, they burned tires and chanted slogans such as "MCC is not needed, the country cannot be sold, reject the treacherous MCC".
