Foundation stone laid for the reconstruction of Mazgaun Airport, which has been closed for 22 years
Dhangadhi: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Ale has laid the foundation stone of Mazgaun Airport. On Wednesday, Minister Ale laid the foundation stone for the construction of physical infrastructure at the airport.
The construction work of Mazgaun Airport in Kanchanpur, which has been closed for 22 years, is set to move ahead with the laying of the foundation stone. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has signed a contract with KS Kancharam Construction for the construction of the airport.
It has already been agreed that the Ministry of Tourism will bear Rs. The length of the airport will be 1,662 meters and the airport will be on 66 bighas of land. The Mazgaun Airport, which has been in operation since 2030 BS, was closed in 2056 BS due to security reasons.
