Construction of Chaumala-Kanari road in Kailali remains incomplete
Dhangadhi: The road from Chaumala in Kailali to Kanari via Behda Baba connects the postal highway in the north, east, and west and in the south. Roads in the lake area of Gauriganga Municipality and Kanari area of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis are blacktop.
However, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan ward no. 16 and Gauriganga municipality ward no. The Kailali Infrastructure Office under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of the Far West had signed a contract for four and a half kilometers of black paper from Chaumala Old Bazaar. The road blacktop work, which was agreed upon on 28th March 2076, is to be completed on 22nd September 2078. But the construction work has not been done yet.
Engineer Nawaraj Rawal, Information Officer of the Infrastructure Office, Kailali, said that the time has been extended. "It simply came to our notice then. The time till Fagun has been extended, 'he said. The construction company claims that the construction of the road took time as the infrastructure office in Kailali made a design error in the agreement worth Rs 70 million. The Director of Shanived-Uchchakoti JV, Surendra Pant, said that the construction work will be completed in the added time.
There was a technical problem. Now the problem is solved. We are preparing for the pitch. It starts as soon as it gets cold, "he said. The nine-meter-wide road will have seven meters of blacktop. Drainage will be constructed in Chaumala's old market area only 1.5 km. The rest of the road has no drain. The Chaumala-Behrababa-Kanari road is about 18 kilometers long. But now only 4 and a half kilometers is getting blackened.
