Dhangadhi: In the 22 years since entering the government service, it has been found that in the name of an undersecretary level employee and his wife, there is real estate in 32 places and money in 19 banks.

Hemraj Bista, acting forest director of the Far Western Provincial Forest Directorate, Kailali, has been found to have deposited land in 32 places and money in 19 banks. A case has been registered in a special court alleging that he has amassed a fine of Rs 68.7 million. It has been found that there are houses and land in the name of Bisht couple in 32 places including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Dang, Kailali, Kanchanpur, and Kaski.

In some places, in the name of Bisht, in some places in the name of his wife, in some places in the joint name of the two, the authority has written in the special court. Authorities have demanded that Bisht be made a defendant and that his wife, Ruby GC, be named as a defendant after Bisht abused his public office and acquired the illicit property through corruption. The authority has stated that ordinary members of community forest user groups, signatures of officials, setting up of fake forest user houses, making the same house a member of more than one forest user group are involved in tree felling.
