Kathmandu Metropolitan city to provide 15 million as assistants to Amargadhi Municipality
Dhangadhi: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has signed a memorandum of understanding with two more municipalities to establish sisterhood. On Tuesday, the corporation signed an agreement with Amargadhi Municipality of Far-Western Province and Pakhribash Municipality of Province No. 1.
The MoU was signed by Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya from the CPN (Maoist), Bishweshwar Prasad Ojha from Amargadhi Municipality and Brish Bahadur Rai from Pakhribash Municipality. The sister city relationship was established with the objective of strengthening the institutional system through friendly relations, promoting mutual interests and cooperation, mutual coordination, joint efforts and cooperation in the campaign of local self-governance, self-governance and prosperous city building by exchanging good practices and experiences, said Mayor Shakya.
In accordance with the legal provisions of clause (t) of Article 26 of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074 BS, KAMPA has taken forward the task of establishing sisterhood on the issues of historical, religious and archeological importance in the federal capital Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has provided Rs. 1 crore 50 lakhs as assistance for the construction of Amargadhi Park in Ward No. 2 and 5 of Amargadhi Municipality along with the establishment of sister relationship.
