Supreme Court orders Far-Western government to submit written reply
Dhangadhi: The Supreme Court has ordered the Far-Western State Government to submit a written reply.
A bench of Justice Harikrishna Karki on Sunday directed to file a written reply within 15 days by the office of the Chief Justice of the Far-Western Province. Advocate Kamal Singh Rana, Apeksha Niraula and Suresh Rokaya jointly filed the writ petition.
Article 168 (9) of the constitution has a constitutional provision that the state government should be formed so that the total number of members does not exceed 20 percent. However, the writ petition was filed alleging that the provision was violated while expanding the state government.
At present, there are six ministries in the Far-Western region and 11 ministers have been appointed.
