Hospitals in Far-West filled with Corona patients, management face challenges
Dhangadhi: With the second wave of Coronavirus, the infection rate in the far-western region is high and the hospitals here are full.
At present, 52 patients have been admitted to the 55-bed Corona Hospital, said Dilip Kumar Shrestha, information officer of the hospital. Information Officer Shrestha told Dinesh Khabar that the condition of most of the patients is critical.
According to him, out of 52 patients, 3 are on ventilator, 11 are in ICU, 25 are on oxygen support and 13 are facing moderate to severe symptoms. Information Officer Shrestha said, we have informed the higher body about the available capacity of the hospital.
It is necessary to take timely actions for management immediately. Similarly, Mahakali Provincial Hospital in Kanchanpur is also full of infected people. According to hospital manager Dipendra Singh Rawal, 54 patients have been admitted to the temporary Corona Hospital of Mahakali Hospital.
Of them, 6 are on ventilator and 12 are on oxygen. Mahakali Hospital has 50 beds for corona patients, 6 beds for ICU and 18 beds for emergency and 74 beds in the general ward. The hospital has stated that there are many problems in the treatment of the infected patients.
Hospital manager Rawal told Dinesh Khabar that there was an acute shortage of manpower after 17 doctors of the hospital contracted corona infection. Currently infected doctors are said to be in home isolation and hospital isolation.
Similarly, hospitals in the hilly districts of the state are also said to be full of infected people. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Development of the Far Western Province is engaged in the management of space, manpower and equipment for treatment.
Ministry spokesperson Narendra Karki said that coordination was underway with the federal government for its management.
