6 years have passed since the Jorayal bus accident

Dhangadhi: It has been six years since the bus accident that killed 29 people in Doti's Jorayal Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 today.

29 people were killed and 68 others injured in the accident on September 7, 2008 while returning to Karmathalo. Various programs have been organized today in memory of those who lost their lives, the government had formed an investigation committee after the bus accident in Jorayal however the report submitted by the committee with immediate and long-term suggestions has yet to implemented.

The report submitted by the committee formed by the then Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Rabindra Shrestha, stated that the spare parts and tires should be checked before the vehicle is driven and vehicles should not be allowed to carry more passengers than the seat capacity.

Due to not implementing the guidelines of the issues pointed out in the report, accidents are recurring from time to time and the condition of the roads is also in a deteriorated state .
