More than 49 people came into contact with woman that died due to Coronavirus

A 55-year-old woman from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 4, died due to Coronavirus. She died at the dialysis ward of Seti Provincial Hospital at 12:00 pm on Friday and was cremated on Saturday morning, after her cremation, her reports came back positive.  

The cremation ceremony of the deceased was attended by 49 people. The procession included people from Ghodaghodi Municipality Ward No. 3, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 and  Bardogoria Rural Municipality Ward No. 2. However, nobody that came in contact with her has been tested for the virus.

Chairman of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 Deepak Thapa said, “We have repeatedly requested to conduct swab tests on people that came in contact with the deceased, but our appeal has been ignored.”

Laxmi Upadhyaya, AHW of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Health Branch, informed that about 30 people who tested positive for RDT have been unable to get a PCR test in the past six days in Dhangadhi. A fever test is being conducted in Mahima Tol, he said.
