RSP general convention closed session to begin at 2:00 pm after delay
Chitwan: The closed session of the first national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM today.
The session, which was initially set to start at 8:30 AM on Monday, was delayed by a day due to technical reasons, according to the party.
RSP Chitwan President E Minimadhav Khanal informed that the closed session will commence after the distribution of identity cards, which has already begun.
The delay in the session has been attributed to the time required to verify the names of convention delegates received from the provinces and to print their identity cards. It has been stated that once the distribution is completed, the closed session will proceed as per the previously planned schedule.
According to RSP General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti, the session will begin with a discussion on the report of the Disciplinary Commission to be presented by Ramakant Rimal. This will be followed by deliberations on the financial report to be presented by Treasurer Lima Adhikari.
Similarly, Joint General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya will present a proposal to amend the party statute, General Secretary Burlakoti will present the organizational report, and Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle will separately present the party’s financial and political proposals.
The party has stated that after the proposals presented by office bearers are endorsed, the closed session will proceed to discuss the political report to be presented by Party President Rabi Lamichhane.
During the session, President Lamichhane is also expected to propose handing over full responsibility of the organizing committee to the Election Commission, along with the announcement of the formation of an interim management committee. Following this, the commission is scheduled to publish information and a timetable related to the election process.
The closed session of the general convention, which was inaugurated on Sunday afternoon at Guesthouse Chaur in Bharatpur, is being conducted at the Exhibition Center of the Industry Association.
