Dhangadhi to launch HPV vaccination campaign targeting over 2,000 girls

Dhangadhi: An HPV vaccination campaign will be conducted in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City from Magh 10. The campaign, which aims to reduce the risk of cervical cancer in women, targets vaccinating 2,340 girls in the sub-metropolitan city.

According to Yogesh Awasthi, Head of the Health Branch of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, a total of 113 vaccination centers will be established for the campaign. Vaccination services will be provided through 94 schools and 19 health institutions. He informed that 64 health workers and 94 volunteers will be mobilized to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness.

Deputy Chief of the Sub-metropolitan City, Kandakala Rana, stated that 95 percent of the targeted girls in Dhangadhi received the HPV vaccination last year and emphasized the importance of achieving the target as fully as possible this year as well. She suggested making arrangements to reach girls who do not attend school and vaccinate them at home. The Sub-metropolitan City stated that preparations are underway to expand the campaign in collaboration with parents, schools and stakeholders to ensure its success.
