Armed police force to establish security bases in all 16 constituencies of Sudurpaschim for elections
Dhangadhi: The Armed Police Force has initiated the implementation of its election security plan ahead of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21 in Sudurpaschim Province. Mobilization of personnel across the province has already begun as part of the preparations.
Senior Superintendent (SSP) Digvijay Subedi, Acting Battalion Commander of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 7 Baidyanath Battalion, stated that the Armed Police Force has been deployed at the offices of the Chief Electoral Officer and Election Officer in the province.
SSP Subedi informed that preparations are underway to establish Armed Police Force Constituency Security Bases in all 16 constituencies of Sudurpaschim from Magh 21. Each security base will operate under the command of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
He added that a mobile team will be deployed from Falgun 22, while reserve and Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) will remain on standby. In addition, a provincial-level reserve and monitoring team has been formed at the battalion level. The plan anticipates mobilizing approximately 5,100 Armed Police Force personnel across the province during the election period.
Sudurpaschim Province has a total of 1,176 polling stations and 2,199 polling stations in all nine districts. Of these, 481 and 985 polling stations are classified as highly sensitive, 395 and 757 as sensitive, and 300 and 456 as normal in different constituencies, according to the security assessment.
