Samaiji temple festival to take place in Nawadurga, Dadeldhura

Dadeldhura: A festival and fair will be held at Samaiji Temple, a renowned religious site in Nawadurga Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura district.

Local youth Surendra Bista stated that the Samaiji Temple festival in Ward No. 5, Chama, will begin on Saturday night, Mangsir 13, with Ratedi, and continue on Sunday with Diunsedi.

Bista noted that thousands of people from Dadeldhura and neighboring districts including Doti, Baitadi, and Bajhang attend the Samaiji Fair in Nawadurga. He added that the Chama area, where the temple is located, is traditionally considered the capital of the gods.

The fair management committee has urged devotees to ensure that the Samaiji Fair remains peaceful, civilized, and grand. The performances of Chaulo and Dhami Jhakris are considered the main attractions of the event. Bista also highlighted that it is a tradition to initiate new Dhamis of the area during the Samaiji Fair.
