Bajhang: Religious gurus in Bajhang have taken an active role in campaigning against various social evils, including domestic violence, menstrual discrimination, child marriage, and caste-based untouchability.

In Bungal Municipality wards 6, 7, 9, 10, and 11, gurus Ganesh Prasad Pant and Vedic Suresh Sanatani Arya have initiated awareness campaigns through religious discourses to educate local communities.

During one such discourse, Pandit Pant stated that discriminatory practices are not supported by the scriptures and urged followers of Sanatani Hinduism to reject all forms of social evils.

He explained, “Menstruation is a natural process. The absence of menstruation signifies illness or infertility. When the Creator Himself becomes infertile, creation ceases. Therefore, those who menstruate should be respected.”

Similarly, Sanatani Arya said that traditional practices such as the use of Panchagabya and Sunpani have been misinterpreted. “Sprinkling cow dung means killing germs. Cow dung and Sunpani act as natural sanitizers,” he added.
