Four-day local holiday declared for Shivnath festival in Baitadi
Baitadi: The Shivnath Rural Municipality in Baitadi has announced a four-day local public holiday on the occasion of the Shivnath Festival.
According to Rural Municipality Chairperson Karna Singh Saud, the decision was made to grant holidays on Kartik 11 and 12, and again on Kartik 18 and 19, coinciding with the celebrations at the Shivnath Temple and Dehigada Bhagwati Temple within the rural municipality.
A notice issued by the rural municipality stated that the holidays on Kartik 11 and 12 are specifically in observance of the festival held at the renowned Shivnath Temple. The decision aims to facilitate the participation of local residents in the festivities.
The annual festival attracts not only local devotees but also Indian pilgrims from nearby border regions. Traditionally, the celebration at the Shivnath Temple takes place on the seventh and eighth days of Kartik Shukla.
