556 weapons looted during Bhadra 24 protests still unrecovered
Kathmandu: A total of 556 weapons looted during the violent protests on Bhadra 24 have yet to be recovered. Following attacks on various Nepal Police barracks and offices, 1,276 deadly weapons were stolen, of which 720 have already been returned by the Nepal Police, Nepal Army, and Armed Police Force.
Police officials stated that 285 large firearms, including INSAS rifles and SLRs, and 271 small arms remain unaccounted for. The Police Headquarters has expressed concern that the unrecovered weapons continue to pose a challenge to maintaining peace and security.
