Kailali customs office collects Rs 1.79 Billion revenue in three months
Kailali: The Kailali Customs Office in Dhangadhi has collected Rs 1.79 billion in revenue during the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
According to the office’s Information Officer, Khim Prasad Aryal, the revenue collected from Shrawan to Asoj includes Rs 696.7 million in customs duty, Rs 689.8 million in value-added tax, Rs 530.3 million in excise duty, and Rs 355.8 million in other categories. However, the revenue collection target has not been met in any of the three months.
Out of the target of Rs 716.1 million for Shrawan, only Rs 578 million was collected. Similarly, Rs 537 million was collected in Bhadra against the target, and Rs 677.8 million in Asoj. Aryal stated that the annual revenue collection target for the current fiscal year is Rs 9.71 billion 15 million.
The revenue collected so far represents 18.46 percent of the annual target. In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the office had also failed to meet its target. Against a target of Rs 11.16 billion 26 million, only Rs 8.66 billion 98 million was collected, which amounts to 77.67 percent of the target, Aryal informed.
