Pun and Oli team clinches Attariya Championship Badminton title

Attariya: The team of Jitendra Pun and Bijan Oli has won the 'Attariya Championship 2082' B Label Men's Double Badminton Tournament held in Attariya, Kailali. In the final match on Sunday, they defeated Santosh Bhatta and Ram Kunwar 2-1 in sets.

Pun and Oli secured the first set, while Bhatta and Kunwar took the second. The final set was claimed by Pun and Oli, earning them the tournament title.

The champions received a trophy, medals, certificates, and a cash prize of Rs 41,100. The runners-up, Bhatta and Kunwar, received a trophy, medals, certificates, and Rs 21,000. The teams of Amit Shahi and Jiwan Khadka, and Rajesh Saund and Sarad Khadka secured third place, each receiving a trophy, medals, certificates, and Rs 5,000.

Organized by Sarika Printing House, Attariya, and co-organized by Mount Everest Club, the tournament featured 59 teams from Kailali, Kanchanpur, Darchula, Dang, and Bardiya. The competition followed a knock-out format, and players with national or regional-level experience were not permitted to participate. The event was held at the badminton hall of Namaste Hotel in Attariya.
