Police Seize Smuggled Goods Worth Nearly 650,000 Rupees in Kanchanpur
Kanchanpur– Law enforcement authorities in Kanchanpur have confiscated smuggled goods valued at nearly NPR 645,420 over the past two days.
The seizures were carried out on Sunday and Monday by various police units in the district. The Area Police Office Gaddachouki reported the largest haul, seizing goods worth NPR 463,830.
The Temporary Police beat confiscated items valued at NPR 101,530, while the Area Police Office Brahmdeb seized goods worth NPR 56,060. Additionally, the Temporary Police Post intercepted smuggled goods worth NPR 6,000. According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, the seized items included a variety of products such as clothes, pulses, cashews, suits, peanuts, mishri, peas, tobacco, kurti, oil, and hardware. Alongside these goods, a motorcycle was also confiscated and sent to the customs office for further action.
The crackdown on smuggling activities underscores the ongoing efforts by Kanchanpur police to curb illegal trade and ensure compliance with customs regulations. The police continue to be vigilant in monitoring and intercepting contraband to protect the local economy and maintain legal trade practices.
