Honoring the Legacy: Garlanding Ceremony Commemorates Martyr Tek Bahadur Saund in Tikapur
Dhangadhi: The solemn act of placing garlands on the grave of Tharuhat Movement martyr Tek Bahadur Saund unfolded in a poignant ceremony. The inaugural session of the first national convention of the Civil Liberation Party on Saturday's Salik served as the backdrop for this heartfelt tribute.
Led by the party's patron, Reshammalal Choudhary, and party president, Ranjita Shrestha Choudhary, a procession of leaders and activists gathered to lay wreaths on the grave, marking the birthday of the late Saund. Tek Bahadur Saund, an 18-month-old minor, met an untimely end during the Tharuhat-Tharuwan movement's Tikapur incident in 2072, subsequently being posthumously recognized as a martyr. The commemoration, held on the 7th of Bhadra 2080, coincided with the eighth anniversary of the Tikapur incident.
The solemn occasion witnessed the unveiling of a salik in memory of Tek Bahadur Saund, jointly established by Civil Immunity Party patron Reshammalal Chaudhary and the Tek Bahadur Saund Memorial Foundation. Alongside honoring Saund, wreaths were respectfully placed on the photographs of all the security personnel who sacrificed their lives during the Tharuhat movement. This ceremony serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made in pursuit of social and civil liberties during a crucial period in the nation's history.
