'Ghorighora Lawangi Pooja' at Kailali

Dhangadhi: Ghorighora Lawangi Puja and Tharu Cultural Festival 2079 BS has started at Kailali Ghodaghodi. On Saturday, the newly elected member of the House of Representatives of Kailali Constituency No. 3 Gangaram Chaudhary inaugurated the Ghorighora Lawangi Puja and Cultural Festival. In the event of Lawangi Puja and Ghorighora festival, Badka dance danced by the old Guruwas of Tharu community, Sakhiya dance danced by women in groups, Lathi dance, Jhumra dance, Din Nachuwa dance, Dhamar, Mangar, as well as the preservation and enhancement of the local talent of the Tharu community as well as to recognize the identity of their community at the national and international level. On the last day of Lawangi Puja, the practice of eating new grain only after sacrificing a horse in the temple, according to the Tharu tradition, has been going on in the Tharu community until now.
