Mahendranagar market flooded

Kanchanpur: Mahendranagar market in Kanchanpur and surrounding settlements have been submerged due to continuous rain. Mahendranagar's main market Madan Chowk area is submerged. Businessmen are in trouble after the market area is flooded. According to the business people here, the main market of Mahendranagar is getting flooded due to the sewage disposal and the settlement that is going against the master plan.

Yagyaraj Joshi, a businessman here, said that there was difficulty in running the business when the shop front was flooded. "Due to lack of drainage, the main market is getting flooded. The municipality needs to pay attention to sewage management." he said.

Mahendra Khadka, the spokesperson of Bhimdatta Municipality, said that the market has been inundated since the encroachment of the canal started recently. The district police office said that although the settlements here have been submerged due to rain, there has been no incident so far. "No major problems have been reported so far. It is raining continuously, everyone needs to be alert." District Police Office spokesperson Chakra Shah said.
