Approximately 200 people have disappeared from Baitadi in a period of three years

Dhangadhi: Around 200 people have gone missing from Baitadi in three years. Police Inspector Lok Raj Joshi said that 189 people went missing from the financial year 2076/77 to 2078/79. According to police statistics, 45 people went missing in 2076/77, 60 in 2077/78, and 84 in 2078/79.

Among the missing persons, 38 in 2076/77, 39 in 2077/78 and 53 in 2078/79 have been found. Police spokesperson Joshi said that 59 people are still without contact. It is said that most of the missing are women and children.

Spokesman Joshi said that it is difficult to compile the data on the missing relatives as there is no information after the missing relatives have been found. Baitadi is a border crossing with India. Because of that, even citizens going to India through the border have been lost.
