Upgradation of Dhangadhi Airport: Land will be acquired in these areas

Dhangadhi: The demarcation work has reached the final stage to acquire the land required for the upgrade of Dhangadhi Airport in Kailali. According to the Dhangadhi Civil Aviation Office, Geta, the demarcation of four forts for land acquisition has reached the final stage.

"The cabinet meeting held on January 14 (2021) has decided to acquire land for the expansion and development of Dhangadhi Airport," Ram Chandra Bhatta, chief of Dhangadhi Civil Aviation Office, Geta, told Dinesh Khabar. A team of technicians is reaching Dhangadhi on Tuesday.

According to him, it has been decided to acquire land for the airport from the existing paved road to the east, 340 meters from the current fenced area to the north, 700 meters from the current fenced area to the west and 100 meters from the current fenced area to the south.

Similarly, the Dhangadhi Civil Aviation Office, Geta, has issued a notice urging not to dig soil in the area and not to disturb the shape of the land. "After the survey was conducted in January, all the people concerned are informed about the possibility of valuing the land within the boundaries while assessing the land at the time of determining the compensation for the degraded soil," he said.
