Civil Liberation wins at Tikapur in Kailali

Dhangadhi: Citizen Liberation Party candidate Ram Lal Dagoura Tharu has won the mayorship of Tikapur Municipality in Kailali. Dagoura defeated Nepali Congress candidate Nawaraj Rawal on behalf of the alliance.

Dagoura won with 9,642 votes while Rawal got 6,642 votes. Similarly, Khadak Bahadur Shah of the UCPN (Maoist) has won the by-poll.

While Shah got 7,955 votes, Ulkadevi Bishwakarma of Civil Liberation got 7,802 votes. Reshmalal Chaudhary, who is living in jail after being convicted in the incident that took place in Tikapur in 2072 BS, had registered as a Civil Liberation party member under the chairmanship of Mrs. Ranjita Shrestha in 2078 BS.
