Unified Socialists wins by defeating the UML in the Far West

Dhangadhi: The CPN-U has opened an account by defeating the CPN-UML in the far-western states. The account has been opened by the Unified Socialists from Ghodaghodi Municipality of Kailali.

Khadak Bahadur Rawat of UCPN (Maoist) defeated Mamata Prasad Chaudhary of UML in the election. Rawat got 13,128 votes while Chaudhary got 8,241 votes. Chaudhary, who won the mayoral election in 2074 BS, lost this time.

Congress' Guriya Kumari Chaudhary has won the post of deputy mayor. She defeated Karuna Devi Batala of UML. Chaudhary won by 12,270 votes while Batala got 6,963 votes.
