Man from Bajura kills his hometown neighbour in India
Dhangadhi: Police have arrested Devendra Bahadur Luhar alias Devendra BK, 19, of Budhiganga Municipality-7, Bajura on the charge of murdering Mangal Luhar, 38. On Monday, the Bajura District Court remanded Devendra BK in custody for trial.
Luhar, who was on patrol in India on February 28, 2022, was killed at around 3 pm while sleeping at Chandni Chowk in New Delhi. Bajura police had conducted an investigation into the murder on March 30 after receiving a term from the district court.
The accused have been remanded in custody in Nepal following a case filed in connection with the murder in Delhi. The deceased's son had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Bajura on March 29.
It has been revealed from the police investigation that Devendra went to India through Gadda Chowki of Kanchanpur and killed Mangal by hitting him with a wooden stick while he was sleeping. He has stated that he was killed in his sleep at midnight due to an old argument.
According to Bajura DSP Chaturbhuj Ojha, in collaboration with the Interpol branch of the police, evidence and investigative documents related to the murder have been collected from the Indian police.
