Regular rafting to begin in Karnali river, feasibility study of watercraft

Dhangadhi: Far Western Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta inaugurated a rafting jamboree program on the Chisapani Karnali River on the occasion of Nepal Tourism Year 2020. Chief Minister of the Far West Bhatta had inaugurated the Jamboree on March 7, 2008, saying that regular rafting will be done in Chisapani from Solta of Mohanyal village of the district.

It has been three years since the official inauguration of rafting in Chisapani. But regular rafting operations have not taken place. Mayor of Tikapur Municipality Tapendra Rawal said that there is no budget for rafting operations in the current fiscal year. He said, "Feasibility study has been done.

' The plan fell into disrepair three years ago when the District Coordinating Committee, Kailali, and Mohanyal village councils were told to conduct regular rafting at their own expense. The District Coordinating Committee, local level of the district and the Far-Western Provincial Government had claimed to conduct regular rafting on the Karnali River from Solta in Mohanyal village of Kailali district.

Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Kailali, Surya Bahadur Thapa said that rafting could not be carried out regularly due to the coronavirus infection.
