Female teachers in Badimalika Municipality-8 refuse to attend school while menstruating
Dhangadhi: Teachers at Shree Janaprakash Basic School, Ratuda in Bajura's Badimalika Municipality-8 have been found not going to school during menstruation. According to the locals, the school in Ratuda is on the main road of the deity and the teachers do not go to the school saying that the deity gets angry during menstruation.
Teacher Nira Bisht said that she did not go because she believed that the local gods were angry. The school has 3 teachers including two female teachers. Both teachers do not go to school for five days during menstruation.
Two teachers do not come to school for ten days a month and are absent for 120 days in a year due to menstruation. Parents have said that the children's education is affected as the teachers do not come to school regularly.
